Chikkamagaluru is a town located in the Chikkamagaluru district in the Indian state of Karnataka. Located in the foothills of Mullayanagiri range, Chikkamgaluru is famous for its serene environment, lush green forests and tall mountains.

Hebbe Falls are situated about 10 km away from the famous hill station Kemmangundi in Karnataka, India. This waterfalls is inside a coffee estate and can be reached either by walk or four-wheeler. An 8 km trek from Kemmangundi along a steep and narrow path leads you to these sprightly falls. Surrounded by dense forests and coffee plantations, Hebbe Falls gushes down from a height of 551 ft[1] in two stages to form Dodda Hebbe (Big Falls) and Chikka Hebbe (Small Falls.) Kemmanagundi translates to "pit of clay" in Kannada. Far from being a pit, it could be, most easily, the best-kept secret in Karnataka, about 293 km from Bangalore. Mullayangiri is the highest peak in Karnataka, India. Mullayanagiri is located at 13°23′26″N 75°43′18″E in the Baba Budan Giri Range of the Western Ghats. With a height of 1,930 metres (6,330 ft), it is the highest peak between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris after chembra peak (2100 m),banaura peak(2073m),and vellari mala(2339m) of wayanad district of kerala. To the north of Chikmagalur town is the Baba-Budan Range or Chandra Drona Parvatha as it was known in olden times, which has one of the highest mountain peaks between the Himalayas and the Nilgiris.

Inam Dattatreya Peetha, located on the Baba Budan Giri Hills, is a revered place for Hindus as well as Muslims. The holy place in a cave is a symbol of brotherhood.Inam Dattatreya Peetha can be approached either from Chikmagalur or Kemmangundi. These are situated at a distance of 28 km and 24 km, respectively, from the site of worship.





The name Sringeri is derived from Rishyashringa-giri, a nearby hill that is believed to have contained the hermitage of Rishi Vibhandaka and his son Rishyashringa. Rishyashringa appears in an episode in the Bala-Kanda of the Ramayana where a story, narrated by Vasishtha, relates how he brought rains to the drought-stricken kingdom of RomapadaThe Sharada temple, dedicated to the Goddess of learning and wisdom, has grown from a simple shrine dating to the time of Adi Shankaracharya



Belur is about 223 kms from Bangalore, a drive of about 4 hours. It is located on the banks of river Yagachi. According to inscriptions discovered here, Belur was also referred to as 'Velapuri'. Belur is known as Dakshina Varanasi or South Banaras for its temples. Though Belur and Halebidu and just 16 kms away, they are always referred to as Belur and Halebidu as if they are one. But indeed they are one in their grandeur of erstwhile era.
